Safflower Oil is reputedly one of the best sources of linoleic acid, an
"essential fatty acid" that is a nutritional necessity for healthy
development and growth. Rich in polyunsaturates, Safflower Oil is claimed
to be effective in reducing cholesterol levels.
Safflower oil offers a light, mild taste ideal for dressings, sauces and
dips and is widely used to produce margarine and mayonnaise. It is commonly
used to deep-fry potato chips, tortilla chips and other snack food items,
as well as in recipes that call for sautéing, baking and stir-frying.
